Twothermo-mechanicalcontrolledprocesses(TMCP)includingcontrolledrollingandacceleratedcoolingareproposedfortheproductionofheavygaugeSUS304Lausteniticstainlesssteelplateswithdifferentstrengthsandothercharacteristics.BasedontherecrystallizationmechanismandcarbideprecipitationbehaviorofSUS304Lausteniticstainlesssteel,TMCPprovidesapowerfulmeanstocontrolthemicrostructureandprecipitationofthehotrolledsteelplatebythecontrolledrollingandacceleratedcoolingprocess.Thedislocationdensityandgrainsizearethemainfactorsindeterminingthestrengthofthestainlesssteelplates.Therefore,itisnecessarytostrictlycontrolthehotrollingparameters,includingparameterssuchasthefinishhotrollingtemperatureintherecrystallizationtemperatureregionandthetotalreductioninthenon-recrystallizationregion.Furthermore,inordertoavoidcarbideprecipitationandguaranteetheintergranularcorrosionresistanceofTMCPSUS304Lausteniticstainlesssteel,acriticalcoolingrateafterrollingisdetermined.
