Mechanical and Wear Properties of Nanostructured Surface Layer in Iron Induced by Surface Mechanical Attrition Treatment

    摘要 Aporosity-freeandcontamination-freesurfacelayerwithgrainsizesrangingfromnanometertomicrometerinFesampleswasobtainedbysurfacemechanicalattritiontreatment(SMAT)technique.MechanicalandwearpropertiesofthesurfacelayerintheSMATedandannealedFesamplesweremeasuredbymeansofnanoindentationandnanoscratchtests,respectively.ExperimentalresultsshowedthatthehardnessofthesurfacelayerintheSMATedFesampleincreasedevidentlyduetothegrainrefinement.TheelasticnoduliofthesurfacelayersintheSMATedandannealedFesampleswereunchanged,independentofgrainsizeinthepresentgrainsizeregime.ComparedwiththeoriginalFesample,thewearresistanceenhancedandthecoefficientoffrictiondecreasedinthesurfacelayeroftheSMATedFesample.
