Theobjectiveofthispaperistoprovideananalyticalbasisforthequantitativeevaluationofdamagetoareinforcedconcretestructurebasedonthevibrationdataobtainedbyusingthedamagedetectiontechnique.Apartialreinforcedconcretesystemofaweakbeam/strongcolumnmomentframeischosenasanexample.Apushoveranalysisiscarriedoutinordertonumericallyexamineboththestoryshear-relativedisplacementcharacteristicsandtheassociateddamagelevel.Intheanalysis,atwodimensionalnonlinearfiniteelementanalysisisemployedconsideringseveralconstitutivemodels.Asaresult,thedegradationofthestiffnessatthedamagedstoryischaracterizedinassociationwiththestoryrelativedisplacement.Itisalsopointedoutthattherotationangleofthecolumn-baseishighlycorrelatedwiththestoryrelativedisplacement.Basedontheanalyticalfindings,quantitativeapproachesforastructuralhealthmonitoringsystemaresuggestedconsideringboththecurrentsensortechnologiesandthoseavailableinthefuture.
