摘要 Commonpracticedictatestheperformanceofpercutaneouscoronaryinterventionunderconventionalangiographicguidance.Withstudiessuggestingthehighincidenceofintraobservervariability,especiallyinangiographicborderlinelesions,newmodalitiessuchasintravascularultrasound(IVUS)guidanceduringpercutaneouscoronaryinterventionhavesurfaced.MultiplestudieshaveshownimprovedoutcomeswithIVUSguidance,mainlydrivenbyadecreaseinischemia-driventargetlesionrevascularization.Inthepasttwodecades,amultitudeofstudieshaveinvestigatedtheusesandclinicaloutcomesassociatedwiththistechnology.Inthisreview,wehighlighttheutility,advantages,economicimplications,andclinicaloutcomesofIVUSguidanceoverstandardangiographicguidance,withemphasisondataastheypertaintoIVUS-guidedstentimplantation.
