摘要 ThecentralPacific(CP)zonalwinddivergenceandconvergenceindicesaredefined,andtheformingmechanismofCPElNio(LaNia)eventsisdiscussedpreliminarily.Theresultsshowthatthedivergenceandconvergenceofthezonalwindanomaly(ZWA)arethekeyprocessintheformingofCPElNio(LaNia)events.AcorrelationanalysisbetweenthecentralPacificzonalwinddivergenceandconvergenceindicesandcentralPacificElNioindicesindicatesthatthereisaremarkablelagcorrelationbetweenthem.ThecentralPacificzonalwinddivergenceandconvergenceindicescanbeusedtopredicttheCPevents.Basedontheseresults,alinearregressionequationisobtainedtopredicttheCPElNio(LaNia)events5monthsahead.
