MicroChannelheatsinkswithtwo-phaseflowcansatisfytheincreasingheatremovalrequirementsofmodernmicroelectronicdevices.Oneoftheimportantaspectsassociatedwithtwo-phaseflowsinmicrochannelsistostudythebubblebehavior.However,intheliteraturemostofthereportspresentdataofonlyasinglechannel.Thisdoesnotaccountforflowmixingandhydrodynamicinstabilitythatoccursinparallelmicrochannels,connectedbycommoninletandoutletcollectors.Inthepresentstudy,experimentswereperformedforair-waterandsteam-waterflowinparalleltriangularmicrochannelswithabaseof200-300μm.Theexperimentalstudyisbasedonsystematicmeasurementsoftemperatureandflowpatternbyinfraredradiometryandhigh-speeddigitalvideoimaging.Inair-waterflow,differentflowpatternswereobservedsimultaneouslyinthevariousmicrochannelsatafixedvaluesofwaterandgasflowrates.Insteam-waterflow,instabilityinuniformlyheatedmicrochannelswasobserved.
