摘要
Inthispaper,weinvestigatetheroleofmorphingonflightdynamicsoftwobirdsbysimulatingtheflowoverrigidandmorphingwingsthathavethecharacteristicsoftwodifferentbirds,namelytheGiantPetrelandDovePrion.Thesimulationofaflappingrigidwingshowsthattherootofthewingshouldbeplacedataspecificangleofattackinordertogenerateenoughlifttobalancetheweightofthebird.However,inthiscasethegeneratedthrustiseitherverysmall,orevennegative,dependingonthewingshape.Further,resultsshowthatmorphingofthewingenablesasignificantincreaseinthethrustandpropulsiveefficiency.Thisindicatesthatthebirdsactuallyutilizesomesortofactivewingtwistingandbendingtoproduceenoughthrust.Thisstudyshouldfacilitatebetterguidanceforthedesignofflappingairvehicles.
