The Effects of Relative Drift Velocities Between Proton and He2+ on the Magnetic Spectral Signatures in the Plasma Depletion Layer

    摘要 Magneticspectrumoftheelectromagneticioncyclotronwavesintheterrestrialplasmadepletionlayer(PDL)aresometimesobservedtohaveaBIF(bifurcated)signature,whereadiminutionaround0.5ΩpwithΩptheprotongyrofrequency,occursbetweentwoactivitypeaksinthespectrum.Byone-dimensionalhybridsimulations,theeffectofrelativedriftvelocitiesbetweenprotonsandHe2+onthemagneticspectralsignaturesinthePDLisstudied.Theresultsshowthattherelativedriftvelocityenhancesthedevelopmentofprotoncyclotronwavesanddeclinesthedevelopmentofheliumcyclotronwaves.Theprotoncyclotronwavesarefirstlyexcited,andfollowedbytheexcitationofheliumcyclotronwavesduetotheincreaseintherelativedriftvelocity.Moreover,theboundarybetweentwoactivitypeaksgetsobscure.
