简介:Welookatexpecteddevelopmentsincomputergraphicssystemcapabilitiesforthenextdecade.theunderlyingthrustisanexpectedsystemhardwarecapabilityincreaseofaround50%peryear.Memorysizesareexpectedtodoubleevery12to18months.Mostofthissystemcapabilityin-creasewillbeusedinbetterandmoreelaboratesimulations,detailedanalysesofexperimentalandcom-puteddata(i.e.visualization)andmoreconvenientuserinputs.Theoveralleffectbytheendofthedecadewillbeanincreaseinsimulationcapabiltiesofaboutfifty-fold,bringingaffordabledetailedanaly-sisandinterpretationofdatatoallengineering,scientificandbusinessenterprises.Concomitantwiththesesystemgrowthsisaneedtore-examinegraphicsalgorithmswiththeviewofeffectivelyutilizingthevastlyincreasedmemorysizesandemployingspecializedautonomousparallelcomputingstructure.
