摘要
Thirty-ninewomenofreproductiveagesufferingfromchronicpelvicinflammatorydisease(PID)foratleasttwoyears,previouslytreatedpharmacologicallywithnoeffect,wereenrolledinafour-weektherapeuticprotocolconsistingof12acupuncturetreatmentsperformedwiththefrequencyofthreeperweek.Ineachfemalepatientatbaselineandafterthestudy,painscoreandthefollowingparametersinbloodserumwereevaluated:concentrationofimmunoglobulinM(IgM),albumins,alphal-globulins,alpha2-globulinsandgamma-globulins,erythrocytesedimentationrate(ESR)andwhitebloodcell(WBC)count.Duringthestudy,weobtainedasignificantdropinESRandIgMlevelstogetherwithariseingamma-globulinconcentrations.Asignificantdecrease(from4.89±0.82to0.63±1.05)inpainscorewas
