Inthispaper,theresponseoftheatmospheric3-5yearcycletoNorthernPacificSSTisdiscussed,Theresultsareasfollows:1.FromthesimultaneoustemporalcorrelationsbetweentheEquatorialEasternPacificSST,thewesterlydirftarea’sSSTandtheNorthernPacificSSTatallgridpoints,wefindthattherearethreecorrelativeregionsintheNorthernPacificSSTfield,theyarethewesterlydriftarea,theEquatorialEasternPacificandtheAlaskaBay,andtheirstructuresareverysimilartothePNApatternintheatmosphereThedifferencePTIbetweentheEquatorialEasternPacificSSTanomalyandthewesterlydriftarea’sSSTanomalycanindicatethechangeofthePNApatternoftheNorthernPacificSSTanomaly.ItcanrepresentSSTchangeof65%areasovertheNorthernPacificandcankeepwatchonElNinoandun-ElNino.2.SimultaneoustemporalcorrelativefieldbetweenPTIandfiltered500hPa(thereis3-5yearcycleonly)oftheNorthernHemispherepresentsclearPNAstructure.Theresp
