Spectralfeatureofforestvegetationwithremotesensingtechniquesistheresearchtopicallovertheworld,becauseforestplaysanimportantroleinhumanbeings'livingenvironment.Researchonvegetationclassificationwithvegetationindexisstillverylittlerecently.Thispaperproposesamethodofidentifyingforesttypesbasedonvegetationindices,becausethecontrastofabsorbingredwavebandwithreflectingnear-infraredwavebandstronglyfordifferentvegetationtypesisrecognizedasthetheoreticbasisofvegetationanalysiswithremotesensing.Vegetationindexishighlyrelatedtoleafareaindex,absorbedphotosyntheticallyactiveradiationandvegetationcover.Vegetationindexreflectsphotosynthesisintensityofplantsandmanifestsdifferentforesttypes.AccordingtoreflectancedataofforestcanopyandsoillineequationNIR=1.506R+0.0076inJingyuetan,ChangchunofChina,manyvegetationindicesarecalculatedandanalyzed.Theresultshowsthattherelationshipsbetweenveg
