摘要 Immunotherapythatspecificallytargetstumorcellsisthepreferredapproachtoinducetumorregression.Overthepastdecade,significantprogresshasbeenmadeindevisingvariousmethodstodirecttheimmunesystemtorespondtotumorcells.Themajorhurdleforsuccessfulimmunotherapyistoovercomeimmunetoleranceinthetumormicroenvironment.Recentclinicaltrialswithdendriticcell-basedvaccination[1,2]andCTLA4blockingantibodies[3]haveshowngreatpromise,thoughcompletecancerregressionisnotalwaysachieved[4].Currently,alternativestrategiespotentiallyleadingtocancereradicationorregressioninanimalorclinicalmodelsarebeingenthusiasticallypursued.InthisissueofCellResearch,Wangetal.reportanovelwaytoinducetumorimmunitybytheuseofirradiatedautologousTcells[5].
