摘要
Thispaperdescribestheuseofoverlappinggridsforthecalculationofflowaroundsingleandmultiple-particleconfigurationsatthemicroscale.ThebasicequationsforcalculationarethoseforconservationofmassandmomentumwhicharesolvedusingacommonFinite-Volumeformulation.Thehydrodynamicparticle-particleandparticle-wallinteractioncanbecalculatedbyusinganoverlappingorChimeragridscheme.Withthegridstructuringprocedureitispossibletousesimpleandstructuredgridsaroundtheparticlesandtheoverallmaingridgeometry.Theparticlegridsarelappedoverthemaingridsuchthattheycanmoveindependentlyaftereachtimestepwithoutremeshingthewholegeometry.Thepapergivesresultsforthevalidationofthecodedevelopedforgeneraltestcases,forarotatingellipsoidinsimpleshearflow,theflowaroundparticlesattachedtoawall,themotionofaparticleinthevicinityofawallandsomeresultsfortheflowthroughapackedbedconfiguration.
