TheSouth-CentralUniversityforNationalities,situatedinWuhan,HubeiProvince,isthemostsuccessfulinstituteofNushustudy,becauseofitscloseproximitytothelocationwheretheNushuoriginated.GongZhebing,whobeganhisteachingcareerattheeuniversityinthe1980s,istheforemostscholar-hewasthefirsttostudytheculture-intheNushu.HeadvocatedtheestablishmentoftheuniversityNushuStudyCenter.
