Currenteducationalreformsinmanycountriesencompassincreasingfreedomofparentalchoice,whichisseenasastimulusimprovementandqualitycontrolofschools.Raisingparents'voiceinthechoicesofaschoolfortheirchildissaidtoenhancetherolemarketmechanismineducationalsystem.Inthispaper,theauthorwillfocusontherelativeimportanceofseveralreasonsforparentchoiceintheNetherlands.Moreover,therelatednessbetweenparentalchoicesandparents'socialbackgroundarediscussed.
