Polystyrene-supportedselenomethyl-sulfonateshavebeenprepared.ThesenovelreagentsweretreatedwithLDAtoproduceseleniumstabilizedcarbanions,whichreactedwithalkylhalideandepoxides,followedbyselenoxidesyn-elimination,togiveE-vinylsulfonesandγ-hydroxy-substituted-E-vinylsulfonesrespectively.
