Anovelcomplex,[Cu2(phen)(sal)(Hsal)2]n(1),wassynthesizedandstructurallycharacterized.Thebasicdimericunitsareholdbysalligandsandextendedinto1-Dnetwork.Thecarboxylategrougsofsalicylatescoordinatetothecentralioninthreedifferentcoordinationmodes:chelating,bridgingandbridging-chelating.Inthecaseofbridging-chelatingofthecarboxylategroupofthesalicylate,allthreeoxygenatomsofsalicylatearebidentatelycoordinatedtocopperion,namely,μ4-η^3bindingmode.
