摘要
Currently,thedesignpracticeofhighwaybridgesaroundtheworldaremovingtowardslimitstatesdesign,areliability-baseddesignprocedure.CanadianHighwayBridgeDesignCode(CHBDC)isthefirstdesigncodeentirelydevelopedbasedonlimitstatesdesignphilosophy,includingfoundationsandFRPcomponents.However,reliabilityofastructuredecreasesinserviceduetoenvironmentalattacksandmaterialdeteriorationsuchasfatigue,corrosionandmanyotherreasons.Therefore,thestructureshouldbeinspectedperiodically,andthereliabilityofthestructureshouldbeevaluatedaccordingtoitsageandfielddata.Ifitsreliabilityisreducedtoacertainlevel,arepairshouldbescheduledaswellassomepreventivemaintenancemeasuresshouldbeimplementedtopreventfurtherdeterioration.Recently,manyresearchworkshavebeenconductedtoinvestigatereliability-deteriorationmechanismsforeachtypeofinfrastructureanditscomponents,optimizetheinspectionandmaintenancestrategy,predictremainingservicelife,estimateitslifecyclecost.Thispaperisfocusedonthestudyofreliability-deteriorationmechanismsofslabonsteelgirderbridgesduetofatigueandcorrosionofsteelgirdersaswellascorrosionofreinforcementinthedeckslab.Exampleswillalsobegiventoillustratetheproposedlifecyclemanagementstrategyforcompositeslabonsteelgirderbridges.
