Enhanced robustness of zero-line modes in graphene via magnetic field

    摘要 Wesystematicallystudiedtheinfluenceofmagneticfieldonzero-linemodes(ZLMs)ingrapheneanddemonstratedthephysicaloriginoftheirenhancedrobustnessbyemployingnoneqnilibriumGreen'sfunctionsandtheLandauerBiittikerformula.Wefoundthataperpendicularmagneticfieldcanseparatethewavefunctionsofthecounter-propagatingkinkstatesintooppositedirections.Specifically,theseparationvanishesatthechargeneutralitypointandincreasesastheFermileveldeviatesfromthechargeneutralitypointandcanreachamagnitudecomparabletothewavefunctionspreadatamoderatefieldstrength.SuchspatialseparationofoppositelypropagatingZLMseffectivelysuppressesbackseatteringandismoresignificantunderzigzagboundaryconditionthailunderarmchairboundarycondition.Moreover,thepresenceofmagneticfieldenlargesthebulkgapandsuppressestheboundstates,therebyfurtherreducingthescattering.ThesemechanismseffectivelyincreasethemeanfreepathsoftheZLMstoapproximately1|iniinthepresenceofadisorder.
