Inrecentyears,twosignificanttrendshaveemergedinglobaltrade.Ononehand,basedontheunilateralideathatputstheirrespectivenationalinterestsfirst,afewcountrieshaveretreatedfromthepositionofequalandmutuallybeneficialtrade,evenatthecostoffiercetradefrictionswithothernations.Ontheotherhand,severallargeeconomieshaveadoptedapositiveattitudetowardtheirfreetradestrategiesandareendeavoringtoestablish“mega-freetradeagreements.”
