摘要 Thedeveloppercutaneoustreatmentsformitralregurgitation(MR)havebeenbasedonestablishedsurgicalprocedures.Mostarebasedinsomewayonmitralannuloplasty.IndirectangioplastyutilizingcoronarysinusandleafletrepairwiththeMitraClipdevicehavethemostdevelopmentandclinicalapplication.Morerecently,afterthesuccessoftranscatheteraorticvalvereplacement,transcathetermitralvalvereplacementhasemerged.Acriticalunansweredquestioniswhattherelativerolesofvalverepairandvalvereplacementwillbe.ThelargestexperienceinpracticeiswithMitraClipleafletrepair.Theevidencebaseforthedevelopmentofthesenoveltherapiesincludessomedatainsurgicalcandidates,andregistrystudiesthathavebeendonepredominantlyinhighriskpopulations.
