    摘要 TheextensivedamagetobuildingscausedbytheNepalM_s8.1earthquakehasattractedmuchattentionbytheinternationalcommunity.AfterthepreliminaryscientificinvestigationsonthedifferentaffectedareasinNepal,theconstructionanddamagecharacteristicsoffivedifferenttypesofbuildingscommonlyexistinginNepalwerediscussedandthereasonsoftheirdisasterperformancewereanalyzed.Typesofbuildingsinvestigatedincludereinforcedconcrete(RC)framestructures,rubblestructures,brick-woodstructures,rawsoilstructures,andbrick-woodstructuresofhistoricbuildings.Inaddition,theweaklinksoftheseismicdesignwerepointedout,whichwasveryimportantforthepost-earthquakereconstructionandrecovery,andgaveapreliminaryexplanationsforthedamageexperienced.
