摘要 Thisresearchtakestheviewthatthemodellingoftemporaldataisafundamentalsteptowardsthesolutionofcapturingsemanticsoftime.Theproblemsinherentinthemodellingoftimearenotuniquetodatabaseprocessing.Therepresentationoftemporalknowledgeandtemporalreasoningarisesinawiderangeofotherdisciplines.Inthispaperanaccountisgivenofatechniqueformodellingthesemanticsoftemporaldataanditsassociatednormalizationmethod.ItdiscussesthetechniquesofprocessingtemporaldatabyemployingaTimeSequence(TS)datamodel.Itshowsanumberofdifferentstrategieswhichareusedtoclassifydifferentdatapropertiesoftemporaldata,anditgoesontodevelopthemodeloftemporaldataandaddressesissuesoftemporaldataapplicationdesignbyintroducingtheconceptoftemporaldatanormalisation.
