TheHY-1AsatelliteisthefirstoceanicsatelliteofChina.Duringthewinterof2002～2003,thedataoftheHY-1AwereappliedtotheseaicemonitoringandforecastingfortheBohaiSeaofChinaforthefirsttime.TheseaiceretrievalsystemoftheHY-1Ahasbeenconstructed.Itreceives1Bdatafromthesatellite,outputsseaiceimagesandprovidesdigitalproductsoficeconcentration,icethicknessandiceedge,whichcanbeusedasimportantinformationforseaicemonitoringandtheinitialfieldsofthenumericseaiceforecastandasoneofthereferencedatafortheseaiceforecastingverification.Theseaiceretrievalsystemofthesatelliteisdescribed,includingitsprocesses,methodsandparameters.TheretrievingresultsandtheirapplicationtotheseaicemonitoringandforecastingfortheBohaiSeaarealsodiscussed.
