摘要
Longseriesofdailyweatherdataarefrequentlyneededtoevaluatediachronicclimaticimpactonwaterresources,theeffectsofwatershedchangesonhydrologyandtouseinavarietyofweatherandgeneralcirculationmodels.AcomputergenerationmodelcalledWGENthatwasdevelopedintheUnitedStatesofAmerica,wasmodifiedinthisstudyandappliedtoNigerianweatherdataspanningtheperiodbetween1969to1988andcovering17siteslocatedinthedifferentclimaticzonesinNigeria.Themodelgeneratedthemonthlymeanmaximumandminimumtemperatures,solarradiation,totalrainfall,andnumberofwetanddrydayswithhighaccuracy,95%ofthetimes.TheMann-WhitneyU-testrevealedthatthenumberofmonthsperyearforwhichobservedandgeneratedweathervariablesweresignificant,waslessthan4inmajorityofthesites.
