    摘要 Survivalratesformetastaticlungcancer,includingnon-smallcelllungcancer(NSCLC)andsmallcelllungcancer(SCLC),arepoorwith5-yearsurvivalsoflessthan5%.Theimmunesystemhasanintricateandcomplexrelationshipwithtumorigenesis;agroundswellofresearchontheimmunesystemisleadingtogreaterunderstandingofhowcancerprogressesandpresentingnewwaystohaltdiseaseprogress.Duetotheextraordinarypoweroftheimmunesystem—withitscapacityformemory,exquisitespecificityandcentralanduniversalroleinhumanbiology—immunotherapyhasthepotentialtoachievecomplete,long-lastingremissionsandcures,withfewsideeffectsforanycancerpatient,regardlessofcancertype.Asaresult,arangeofcancertherapiesareunderdevelopmentthatworkbyturningourownimmunecellsagainsttumors.Howeverdeeperunderstandingofthecomplexityofimmunomodulationbytumorsiskeytothedevelopmentofeffectiveimmunotherapies,especiallyinlungcancer.
