Ship hull optimization based on wave resistance using wavelet method

    摘要 Theshiphullsurfaceoptimizationbasedonthewaveresistanceisanimportantissueintheshipengineeringindustry.Thewaveletmethodmayprovideaconvenienttoolforthesurfacehulloptimization.Asapreliminarystudy,weusethewaveletmethodtooptimizethehullsurfacebasedontheMichelwaveresistanceforaWigleymodelinthispaper.Firstly,weexpressthemodel’ssurfacebythewaveletdecompositionexpressionsandobtainareconstructedsurfaceandthenvalidateitsaccuracy.Secondly,werewritetheMichelwaveresistanceformulainthewaveletbases,resultinginasimpleformulacontainingonlytheshiphullsurface’swaveletcoefficients.Thirdly,wetakethesewaveletcoefficientsasoptimizationvariables,andanalyzethemainwaveresistancedistributionintermsofscalesandlocations,toreducethenumberofoptimizationvariables.Finally,weobtaintheoptimalhullsurfaceoftheWigleymodelthroughgeneticalgorithms,reducingthewaveresistancealmostbyahalf.Itisshownthatthewaveletmethodmayprovideanewapproachforthehulloptimization.
