    摘要 —Effectivestressanalysisisperformedtoevaluatetheresidualdisplacementofacaissonquaywallduring1994Hokkaido-Toho-OkiEarthquakeand1993Kushiro-OkiEarthquake.Theconstitutivemodelusedinthisstudyisamultipleshearmechanismtypedefinedinstrainspaceandcantakeintoaccounttheeffectofrotationofprincipalstressaxis.Theearthquakeaccelerationsrecordedattheoutcroppingrockduringtheearthquakeareusedasinputbedrockmotion.Theresultsoffiniteele-mentanalysisareingoodagreementwiththeobservedbehaviourofthequaywall.Theanalysisalsoindi-catesthatliquefactionandhighexcessporewaterpressurehaveasignificanteffectonthedeformationofthecaisson.Soilimprovementisspeculatedasthemostreliablemeasuresagainstliquefaction.Theinflu-enceofsoilimprovementandthereasonableimprovedareaarediscussedinthepaper.
