URANS simulations of ship motion responses in long-crest irregular waves

    摘要 Inthispaper,numericalpredictionofshipmotionresponsesinlong-crestirregularwavesbytheURANS-VOFmethodispresented.Awhitenoisespectrumisappliedtogeneratetheincomingwavestoevaluatethemotionresponses.Theprocedurecanreplaceadecadeofsimulationsinregularwavewithonesingleruntoobtainacompletecurveoflinearmotionresponse,considerablyreducingcomputationtime.Acorrectionprocedureisemployedtoadjustthewavegenerationsignalbasedonthewavespectrumandachievesfairlybetterresultsinthewavetank.Threeshipmodelswithfivewaveconditionsareintroducedtovalidatethemethod.Thecomputationsinthispaperarecompletedbyusingthesolvernaoe-FOAM-SJTU,asolverdevelopedforshipandoceanengineeringbasedontheopensourcecodeOpenFOAM.Thecomputationalmotionresponsesbytheirregularwaveprocedurearecomparedwiththeresultsbyregularwave,experimentsandstriptheory.Transferfunctionsbyirregularwavecloselyagreewiththedataobtainedintheregularwaves,showingnegligibledifference.Thecomparisonbetweencomputationalresultsandexperimentsalsoshowgoodagreements.TheresultsbetterpredictedbyCFDmethodthanstriptheoriesindicatethatthismethodcancompensatefortheinaccuracyofthestriptheories.Theresultsconfirmthattheirregularwaveprocedureisapromisingmethodfortheaccuratepredictionofmotionresponseswithlessaccuracylossandhigherefficiencycomparedwiththeregularwaveprocedure.
