Non-equilibrium Plasma Assisted Combustion of Low Heating Value Fuels

    摘要 Thispaperdescribestheeffectsofnon-equilibriumairplasmageneratedbyadielectricbarrierdischarge(DBD)onthecombustionoflowheatingvaluefuels.TheexperimentalresultsindicatethatadditionofaverysmallamountofenergytotheairflowintheformofDBDsignificantlyimprovestheflamestability.Moreover,maincombustioncharacteristicssuchasflamepropagationspeed,combustionintensityandleanblow-offlimitsarealsoenhancedbytheeffectofplasma.SomeactiveradicalssuchasexcitedOatomandexcitedN2moleculeareobservedbyspectrographinthedischargearea.BasedontheresultsofnumericalinvestigationwecanconcludethattheseactiveradicalsgeneratedindischargeareacanacceleratetheproductionrateofactiveOHradicalwhichplaysakeyroleintheoxidationprocessoflowheatingvaluefuel,andthusthewholecombustionprocessisaccelerated.
