Inarecentstudy,aregimechartwasestablishedforshearedgranularsystems.Forasoftparticlesystemundersimpleshear,theinternalstressshowedarangeofratedependency.Astheparticleconcentrationincreased,thesystemtransitionedfromakineticgastoaplasticsolid.Thistransitionwasgradualforlowstiffnesssystemsbutbecamemoreabruptasthestiffnessincreased.Inthisstudy,therelationshipbetweenthegranulartemperatureandpressureisinvestigatedforthesamesystemofparticles.Thegranulartemperatureisdefinedastheaveragekineticenergyperunitvolumeandthepressureisdefinedasthetraceofthestresstensor.Itisfoundthatthispressure-temperature(P-T)curvedepictsasharpturnwhenthesystemmovesawayfromthekineticgasregime.However,nosignatureisfoundintheP-Trelationshipinotherregimes.
