摘要
Anovelsingle-polarizationsingle-modephotoniccrystalfiber(SPSM-PCF)withcircularandellipticalair-holesisproposed.ThecharacteristicsoftheproposedSPSM-PCFareinvestigatedbyusingafull-vectorfiniteelementmethod(FEM)withperfectmatchedlayer(PML)boundaryconditions.TheresultsshowthattheSPSMoperationisachievedwithwiderband,andthetotaldispersionprofileoftheSPSM-PCFisdispersion-flattenedfrom1.193μmto1.384μm.ThisdispersionpropertymakestheproposedSPSM-PCFusefulforvariousapplications,suchasopticaltransmissionanddispersioncompensationforconventionalfiberatlongwavelengthbandwith500nmnegativedispersionregion.ItindicatesthatthisisagoodsolutiontorealizebroadbandSPSMoperation.
