Withrespecttoobtainingtheeffectiveelasticmoduliofthecomposite,thepresenttheorydif-fersfrombothEshelby’sequivalentinclusionmethodandHill’sself-consistentone,bothofwhichonlyconsid-erthemechanicalpropertiesofthematrixandinclusions(fibers).Infact,theinclusion-inclusioninteractionismorepronouncedwhenthevolumefractionofinclusionsofthecompositeincreases.Hence,inthispapertheeffectiveelasticmoduliofthecompositearederivedbytakingintoaccounttheshapes,sizesanddistributionofinclusions,andtheinteractionsbetweeninclusions.Inaddition,itismoreconvincingtoassumeshort-fibersascylindricalinclusionsasinthepresentpaperthanasellipsoidalonesasinothers.Finally,numericalre-sultsaregiven.
