摘要 AnewinsectfamilyLiaoximordellidae(fam.nov.)hasbeennamedforawell-preservedspecimenwhichwascollectedfromtheUpperJurassicoutcroppingwestofDaxinfangziVillage,LingyuanCounty,LiaoningProvince.ThespecimencannotbeputintoMordellidaeorPraemordellidaebecauseitpossessessomeoriginalandintermediatecharactersinmorphology.Itservesthestudyofmordellidevolution.Besides,thefossilgroupassociatedwiththeinsectisimportantforthestratigraphicdivisionoftheMesozoicinwesternLiaoning.
