InthispaperamathematicalmodelofAIDSisinvestigated.Theconditionsoftheexistenceofequilibriaandlocalstabilityofequilibriaaregiven.TheexistencesoftranscriticalbifurcationandHopfbifurcationarealsoconsidered.inparticular,theconditionsfortheexistenceofHopfbifurcationcanbegivenintermsofthecoefficientsofthecharacteristicequation.ThemethodextendstheapplicationoftheHopfbifurcationtheoremtohigherdifferentialequationswhichoccurinbiologicalmodels,chemicalmodels,andepidemiologicalmodelsetc.
